The participation of a group of Catalan immigrants and exiles in the Wagnerian movement of Buenos Aires gave it unique characteristics to the latter, and at the same time, we believe it was a proper dimension of Catalan cultural activism. These groups of Wagnerian intellectuals and artists, took as a mission, the starting of a "revolution" in music (they called themselves "Soviet of the Music") and the dissemination of "Wagnerian culture." In this paper we propose to begin the study of spaces of sociability and the graphic and journalistic production developed by this group of Catalans and Wagnerians, to start thinking about the impact of these practices in shaping nationalistic cultural ideologies.
