This paper investigates the possibilities of the official data sources in Argentina to monitor sexual and reproductive health commitments, assumed since the adoption of the Montevideo Consensus on Population and Development. A selection of data sources is analyzed, based on the methodological proposal for monitoring the Consensus at regional level, the synergy between it and the Sustainable Development Goals and the requirements for monitoring rights. The results reveal that the data sources allow calculating less than 50% of the indicators required internationally. These indicators mainly refer to women of reproductive age, being less likely to monitor other populations equally important to the Consensus (such as older people, men, and adolescents). Problems of coverage, representativeness, periodicity, disaggregation, and publication are also evident. Hence the need for redoubling efforts related to the information systems for accountability and taking accurate decisions concerning rights.
