The nonlinear dynamics of a three-dimensional parametric pendulum system is studied in terms of its ability to produce kinetic energy, with focus on a possible ambient energy harvesting application. To study the dynamics, a mathematical model is developed and numerical predictions are made. This model consists of three ordinary nonlinear differential equations, which resolution a rich and complex dynamic. To achieve precisions about the most suitable configurations for the production of usable kinetic energy, results are presented and discussed using typical tools of nonlinear dynamics such as bifurcation diagrams and parameter spaces. The results of the simulations show that the threedimensional movement of the pendulum does not increase the energy generation, while the fact of forcing the pendulum in tilted directions with respect to the vertical does.
