From a social history perspective, we address the artisanal fishing communities (Riacho San José, Playa Larralde and Playa Bengoa) of the San José gulf on Península Valdés, their relationship to the notion of heritage in terms of tourism, as well as the conflicts arising from their presence. The category of “life genre” will be used to study how artisanal fishermen built a “terrimaritimidad” that encompassed the gulf and the rural space of Península Valdés, in the face of the subalternization carried out by state agents and private owners. Oral records, journalistic and scientific articles will be used.
