In this paper, from the observation of the impact, according to the INDEC, is derived from the last census results on the reference population of Household Surveys. Some elements that raise questions about such adjustments are analyzed and presented about a striking shift in urban primacy of Argentina. Furthermore, it refers to the reliance on surveys of census results, the population dynamics -urban and total- in Argentina in the last half century; the peculiar behavior that is assigned to Greater Buenos Aires; the striking changes in population structure and the effects of all this on the estimates of employment at the aggregate level. Finally, a brief reflection on the need to restore public production of quality statistics.
