Bullying is a major risk factor for psychosocial adjustment of both victims and perpetrators. However, there are few empirical studies in this subject in Argentina. An important aspect of mental health is self-concept, that is, how people assess their competence in different areas of your life. Thus, the purpose of the present investigation was to assess bullying (victimization and aggression) and its association with self-concept in adolescents from high schools. A convenience sample of 240 middle school students from the city of Paraná, Entre Ríos, completed the Revised Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire and the Harter Self-Perception Profile for Adolescents. The results showed that victimization predicted lower school competence, social acceptance, and intimate friendship. Aggression predicted worse social acceptance, behavioral conduct, and better romantic appeal. In the conclusions we discuss these findings and their implications, also suggestions for future studies are provided.
