The history of philosophy has focused on analyzing some significant books while intellectual history have prompted an exploration of other documents such as journals and personal papers. Simultaneously, the theoretical, historical, and material study of cultural and bibliographic assets was acknowledged as a strategic area a few years ago by various research agencies in Argentina and its region. This field of study involves the analysis of cultural objects as well as their preservation as condition for knowledge. The following pages contribute to enhancing personal collections for the intellectual history of philosophy in Argentina. To enhance their visibility and analysis: it offers an initial guide to provide information on the conservation and access conditions of personal collections belonging to those who dedicated themselves to philosophy in the country; it presents a methodological reflection on the utilization of personal collections in philosophical historiography.
