The expansion of Tawantinsuyu involved the annexation and establishment of new political-administrative jurisdictions. Studies from fields of history and archaeology have offered various proposals on its location. In this work, we reflect on the Inca province of Chicoana by crossing written and material sources. It is proposed that the landscape described in the early documents that refer to Chicoana reveal a scenario configured from a space associated with agricultural and mining production. As a hypothesis, it is suggested that this landscape formed a network that included towns and spaces of ravines and high valleys of the Calchaquí, as well as other landscapes associated with Valle de Lerma and the puna.
