This article presents a research conducted in political theory, which subject is the analysis of contemporary forms of politics, as they are given to see in collectives and social movements emerging around the issue of precarity. The research, which is based mainly on the work of Jacques Rancière, takes place in a context where political understandings are shaken, as much in social science as in political philosophy, by social movements that emerged in the late twentieth century, that question the sense of citizenship and democracy. From a field investigation conducted in France, with undocumented people organized in collectives, and Argentina, with social organizations actives in precarious neighborhoods, it is speculated that the growing role of precariousness in democratic societies creates new forms of mobilization and new types of claims, which surprises the political and forced him to reformulate. This study is developed on the two planes of the ethnographic investigation and conceptual analysis in political philosophy, to create a dialogue between them that can offer new investigation lines of the proposed questions.
