This paper offers an insight on how the agricultural production has evolved in Argentina since the mid-nineties up until 2015. Firstly, we show the major changes in the Pampa region's agricultural production and how this changes made it possible for the production to start growing for the first time in decades, thus beginning one of the stages of grater growth in agricultural production that Argentina has ever seen. We also analyze the impact of the new Argentine economic model –implemented after the 2001 crisis– on the Pampa region's agricultural profitability. Furthermore, we study how changes in commodities' international prices over the past decades affected agricultural production in Argentina. Finally, we attend the matter of which is the current role of this activity in the Argentine economy.
