Our starting point is the verification of the weft that constitutes our present, the weft between neo¬liberalism and modes of subjectivation. When we talk about neoliberalism, we do not refer to the economic thought but a specific mode of govern¬ment which produces certain forms of subjectiva¬tion. That is why, the question about the transfor-mation of the present and the forms of resistance, that compromises our critical work, becomes a more complex task than if it were only about an ideology or an economic policy. If we grant Fou¬cault that there is a critical attitude capable of ques¬tioning the modes we are governed, it is necessary to update that exercise according to an adequate diagnosis of our present.
