It is also intended to analyze if there are significant relationships between the burnout dimensions and professional variables. The argentine adaptation of the MBI inventory was applied to 47 residents from the province of Mendoza, Argentina. The results show that only 4 subjects have indicators of burnout and 3 subjects are at risk. The prevalence of indicators of burnout is low; and social workers are the professionals at higher risk of suffering the syndrome. Significant results were found in relation to the amount of working hours per day, getting high scores in the dimension of emotional tiredness in subjects who do more than eight hours a day, and low score in personal achievement in those professionals who have four guards per month.
