The idea of modern education is characterized by mediation, as a pedagogical device that seeks the awareness of the other and authoritatively proposes the domestication and modeling of the subject to be educated. In contrast to this device of colonization and sterilization of the imagination in its (im) possibility of (re) inventing. We review and oppose this positioning based on the pedagogical articulation of a decolonial narrative environment. Within this proposal, specifically in this text, we address the notion of mandiga (identity brand of the people of the “capoeragem” in Brazil) with the intention of demonstrating the possibility of constructing narrative environments that feed the decolonization of education and that articulate the immediacy of a decolonial pedagogy.
