This work studies the aerosol optical characteristics for two air mass intrusion events at Córdoba Province in Argentina in August 2009. The first one was the most important event registered up to in that region date, in which a dust-salt mixture originated at Mar Chiquita Lake reduced the visibility over a vast geographical region on mid-August. The second one appears at the end of this month in which local fires added a thick biomass burning aerosol layer to the preexistent one. These events were detected by an AERONET sunphotometer placed in the CONAE Falda del Carmen ground station (Córdoba-CETT) and the information was enhanced by means of satellite measurements data for the region.
