In this paper we study the aspects of sacred oratory from Rio de la Plata in the first half of the 19th century by means of a collection of sermons—recently attibuted to—by Nicolas Aldazor, Federal Franciscan loyal to Rosas, who passed away when he became third bishop of the region of Cuyo. The study analyses the diverse meanings we can track in the material aspects of the documents and the rhetorical structure, as well as in the framework of bibliographical sources he uses in his writings. Clearly, these bibliographical sources used implied an exchange of books and ideas that were not only confined to life in the convent.
