This article presents the results of survey work carried out in the Guandacol Valley, Felipe Varela in the west of La Rioja, especially and more specifically on aeolian-fluvial environ- ments in the Guandacol and La Troya Rivers. The purpose of this study was to gather ar- chaeological information and other landscape features, from a regional and diachronic pers- pective and in terms of understanding the population dynamics of the area and ways of space occupation. The area was surveyed through transect plots and concentrations of materials were revealed, mainly ceramics and isolated finds places. We focus on the spatial analysis using tools provided by the Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which allowed us to eva- luate distributions, relationships between locations and the environment, and linkages with Tambería, the main town belonging to societies ascribed to the Regional Developments Period (1100-1470 A.D.) and Inca domination (1470-1536 A.D.). Likewise, the studies delved into techno-stylistic characteristics of the pottery, giving us a insight about chronology variations.
