Porous titanium is one of the more appealing materials to manufacture biomedical implants; it is utilized under different conditions of porosity capable of reducing the stress shielding phenomenon. This work presents a Modified Ramberg-Osgood (MRO) model accounting for the volumetric porosity percentage of titanium used in biomedical implants. The porous microstructure is represented through a micromechanical model based on the Finite Element Method. Equations are built to predict the Young’s modulus and the conventional yield strength using the developed micromechanical models. The MRO presents a good agreement with numerical and experimental results.
