Resumen
This monotypic genus ranges between about 30°S and 34°S in southern South America, with the single species Salinomys delicatus having both a restricted and patchy distribution, with local populations of small size. Only a few studies of the ecol ogy of the species have been published since its description (Braun and Mares 1995).
