Various cognitive-behavioral Vtechniques seek to restructure thoughts that intrusively break into the attentional focus of subjects suffering from stress and anxiety problems. Beck's cognitive restructuring techniques, Wolpe's systematic desensitization, Shapiro's use of EMDR, and more recent imagery rescriping interventions have shown varying degrees of efficacy, each addressing the problem with proposed interventions within limitations. of the frame itself. theoretical. The present study is based on the application of the PASER technique (Assisted Processing of Recent Stressful Situations) that integrates interventions of the treatments in a novel way and in very short times. Two adult subjects with Personality Dependency Disorder were individually treated in three PASER sessions to reprocess highly stressful scenes. The degree of emotional disturbance was assessed with the APPEM Inventory in six phases of a single-subject reversal design (ABABAB). The study was complemented with an in-depth interview. In one of the cases, a very notable reduction was observed in the levels of emotional disturbance, predominantly cognitive, and of physiological anxious reactivity, and modest results in the other. New research is required to understand the different degrees of effectiveness.
