Given the legalization of pregnancy interruptions, conscientious objection is inscribed in conflict frameworks with the rights of others, with content that by definition had not had, with religious and institutional obligations, among others. An uncritical reading of conscientious objection in the context of laws that recognize SRH rights runs the risk of legitimizing political actions whose purpose is to weaken the normative force of the right and the citizenship status of those who exercise it. Conscientious objection is not only a legal construction but, fundamentally, a political production. For this reason, it is essential to make visible the political and power game that it inaugurates before the legalization of pregnancy interruptions.
