Abstract

We have identified in our paper some inadvertent errors in terminology and acronyms related to the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum events. Due to a translation error, we have introduced a meaningless acronym (EMT-2) that should be read as ETM-2 in the following parts of the article:1) Page 1, Abstract, line 8: Instead of “Early Eocene Maximum Thermal Event (EMT-2)” should be read Eocene Maximum Thermal Event (ETM-2).2) Page 9, 2nd paragraph: “These events are reported under the denomination of Late Paleocene Thermal Maximum Event (PETM) (Sluijs et al., 2007; R¨ohl et al., 2007) and Early Eocene Maximum Thermal Event (EIMT) (Crouch et al., 2003a; 2003b)” should be read as follows: These events are reported under the denomination of Paleocene Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM; e.g. Aubry et al., 2003) and Initial Eocene thermal maximum (IETM; e.g. Schmitz et al., 2001; Crouch et al., 2003b).3) Page 11, 2nd paragraph, line 5: Instead of “Early Eocene Maximum Thermal Event (EMT-2)” should read Eocene Thermal Maximum Event (ETM-2).4) Page 14, Conclusions, line 9: Instead of “EMT-2” should read ETM-2.5) Page 17, References: include the following references:In order to avoid confusion about these terms, we felt it necessary to publish this corrigendum.
