This work propases to reflect on several features of Gustave Guillaume linguistics school within the framework of its appropriateness to define criteria for poetry translation. Conceiving this activity from a critical-poetical point of view, and through progressive observation oftext materiality's, in the theoretical and investigation line followed by Delfina Muschietti- in the project of founding a School of Poetical Translation. lf we translate from one kind of discourse to another, instead of from one language to another, we will ask ourselves if sorne general questions referring the language system- from the point of view of the linguistics of the signifier and the idea ofsignificancy that this theory proposes-, can be useful in order to translate, to be able to produce, in the target language, those mechanisms that, in the source language, generate perceptions that translate themselves into meaning.
