Petróleo, uso práctico del pasado y construcción de heroicidad en una historieta argentina: “Enrique Mosconi. Una historia de novela”

Abstract

En este artículo apelaremos a la categoría de “pasado práctico” para analizar la manera en que un determinado pasado es evocado en el presente. En este sentido, repasaremos los distintos usos de la figura del General Enrique Mosconi que han construido diversas tradiciones ideológicas durante el siglo XX. Asimismo, analizaremos una historieta recientemente publicada en la cual se replican todos los elementos que construyen una determinada heroicidad.In this article we will appeal to the category of "practical past" to analyze how a particular past is evoked in the present. In this sense, we will review the different uses of the figure of General Enrique Mosconi who have built diverse ideological traditions in Argentina during the twentieth century. Mosconi was the first director of Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales in 1922, a company created by the government of the Unión Cívica Radical. It is the highest symbol of oil nationalism in Argentina, and claimed by nationalists, Peronists, radicals, military and sectors of the left. Later, we will analyze a comic strip related to the life and work of Mosconi recently published, in which all the elements that construct a certain heroicity are replicated.
