The National Cultural Encounter of San Antonio de Arredondo (ENCSAA) has been going on since more than 20 years in the homonymous town in the hills of Cordoba (Argentina). In the edition number 21 of the ENCSAA (year 2011), an activity proposed by women, for women took place for the first time. It consisted of making of dolls and clothing that would dress them. To do so, women representing different areas of the country, ages and diverse cultural roots -a north-Brazilian dancer who represents African culture; an Argentinian weaver; a woman of Guarani origin, among others- were invited to experience a performance where the notion of interculturality gained relevance. The activity was an opportunity in order to women, with diverse experiencies of life and social trajectories, could discuss ¿what is being a woman o women? ¿What senses of feminine these women affirm, deny or tense? From theoretical tools from theory of gender, performances and postcolonialities theories, we could obverse that the dolls put on the table localized personifications of rules, ideals, oppressions and denials embodied. They also showed as a performance stressed hegemonic models of “femininity” that historically have subordinated, oppressed and hidden the women, their bodies, their desires and their cultural identities, to opening by contrast a construction of women from the plurality, diversity and location.
