The paleontological heritage that lies on the coastal cliffs of northern Mar del Plata is in a state of vulnerability due to natural and anthropic factors. This situation must be considered very relevant since said paleontological heritage is part of the cultural assets of the city and its surroundings and its loss is irreplaceable. Hence, a photographic survey of the animal fossils that compose this paleontological heritage was carried out, characterizing its main attributes, determining its heritage value, detecting the natural and anthropic impacts that affect it, and proposing a series of measures to be followed for its conservation. Manly vertebrate fossils were recognized along six beaches with different degrees of patrimonial valuation. The most outstanding impacts are those that cause their concealment, such as sand accumulation, vegetation cover and urban infrastructure works.
