Inequalities between men and women persist in different areas of life. The university as an institution of higher education is no stranger to this, as it is marked by practices, norms, institutional prescriptions and models of authority that produce, maintain and reproduce gender stereotypes and inequalities. In this regard, and although there has been progress in Argentina in terms of gender equality, inequalities at work in the educational sphere are still a concern. Considering this reality, we analyzed vertical segregation in the occupation of teaching and non-teaching positions in the Faculty of Psychology of the UNC (Argentina) through a quantitative descriptive study. We worked with the records of all the teachers (N=290, 34% male and 66% female) and non-teaching staff (N=69, 52.2% female and 47.8% male). The results provide evidence of vertical segregation processes in both groups, which is reflected not only in the hierarchy and time commitment of their positions but also in their political representation positions in the institution.
