Ingenio e imaginación: crítica al racionalismo y propuestas gnoseológico antropológicas en Giambattista Vico y Adam Smith

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene por objeto identificar algunas coincidencias entre las ideas de Giambattista Vico y Adam Smith en cuanto a los principios gnoseológico-antropológicos sobre los que asientan sus concepciones acerca del conocimiento científico-filosófico. Se intentará mostrar que ambos autores elaboraron sus posiciones filosóficas en dialogo crítico con el racionalismo, lo que les permitió reestructurar la manera de comprender y caracterizar el conocimiento humano destacando la acción de las facultades del ingenio en Vico y la imaginación en Smith.This paper aims to identify some similarities between the ideas of Giambattista Vico and Adam Smith in terms of gnoseological-anthropological principles on which they support their conceptions about scientific and philosophical knowledge. It is intended to show that both authors developed their philosophical positions in critical dialogue with Rationalism, allowing them to restructure the way to understand and characterize human knowledge, emphasizing the action of the faculties of ingenuity, in Vico’s case, and imagination, in Smith’s one.
