Jóvenes y proyectos de futuro: Entre la educación superior y el trabajo en Cañuelas, Provincia de Buenos Aires

Abstract

Este artículo aborda la construcción de la educación superior en tanto opción en los proyectos de futuro de un grupo de jóvenes en la localidad de Cañuelas, en dos momentos de sus vidas. La investigación se realizó en dos etapas: durante 2008-2010 –mientras los jóvenes cursaban su último año de escuela secundaria– y desde 2018 –entrevistando a algunos de estos jóvenes a diez años de su egreso y también a funcionarios municipales. Desde un abordaje etnográfico concluimos que, si bien la educación superior se construye como opción legitimada por la escuela y las políticas municipales, deja de tener un valor central a diez años del egreso.This article analyzes the presence of universities in young people’s “projects of future”, in the context of socio-productive structure ´s transformations in Cañuelas (2008-2019). From an ethnographic investigation, the plot that configures the options and the way in which they are incorporated into their projects at two moments in their lives are addressed. We recreate the context that result from the practice of youth, companies and municipality in which productive and training processes are articulated. The research was carried out in two stages: during 2008-2010 while the young people were in their last year of high school and since 2018 interviewing some of these young people - after ten years of graduation - and also municipal officials. We conclude that higher education is differentially constructed as an option, without being linearly linked to the policies designed by the Municipality.
