The student experience needs to be interpreted within the framework of structuring processes of a sentimental network under a web of interdependencies. This article shares the findings of a socio-educational study that seeks to understand the relationships between the emotional experiences of students and their relationship with the production of violence in secondary school. The administration of a survey to 4,023 young people of secondary education in the Province of Buenos Aires made it possible to approach their perceptions regarding the communication of emotions and the modes of institutional intervention in situations of violence. In contexts of inequality, the question about the symbolic value of the school in the processing of social pain becomes pertinent.
