This paper aims to show what “neurocognitive” linguistics (NCL) can contribute to biolinguistics. Thus, the following issues are considered in the four different sections of the paper: (1) insofar as NCL conceives of language as a set of interconnected subsystems, NCL is in touch with the biological reality studied by neuroscientists; (2) NCL has developed a notational system able to represent linguistic information; (3) NCL is neurologically plausible; (4) NCL is compatible with tests carried out by current neuroscientific research.
