In spatial data modeling, it is common for the studied phenomena to exhibit spatial drifts or structural instability in the parameters. When this occurs, global parametric analysis becomes inadequate due to its inability to capture such situations. One of the procedures that can correct the mentioned contexts, which has gained traction in the academic field over the last decade, is Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR). The aim of this work is to describe the main methodological aspects of this technique and present an application of it using census data. The impact of human capital, represented by the percentage of people currently pursuing or who have completed university studies, on unmet basic needs is being studied. The results allow for differentiated insights by geographic areas regarding human capital across different regions.
