The present paper analyses two views on the revolutionary militant or activist, the one presented by Virginie Linhart in her Le Jour où mon père s est tu and Silvia Schwarz-böck’s view in Los espantos. Estética y postdictadura. Although through different paths, both books consider that the crisis of the figure of the revolutionary militant al-lows to deliver conclusions of epochal scope. We confront these conclusions with some elements in the texts under analysis which go against their main intentions which allow to criticize them the individualistic dissolutions of historical events present in them. As a conclusion, we insist on the necessity of examining the problem of a revolutionary politics in its own structural level, that of the correlation of forces.
