Resumen

Plants adapt to drought and salinity integrating developmental and growth responses environmentally activated. Phytohormones tightly control the adaptive processes and coordinate the cellular responses to drought and salinity. Recent studies have uncovered novel roles of gibberellins (GAs) and abscisic acid (ABA) demonstrating that both phytohormones are involved in the whole plant responses to affront the stressful environmental signaling for growth and development. In this chapter, we emphasized the role and the crosstalk of GAs and ABA mediating plant responses under drought and salinity. The function of DELLA proteins as central regulators in the GA and ABA crosstalk is also emphasized.
