We present a synthesis of the results of an extensive UBVI photometric study performed on a group of 14 fields located in the third quadrant of our galaxy, aimed at establishing the properties of its stellar population and the degree of agreement with two of the most important theoretical models of the Milky Way: Besan¸con and TRILEGAL. The individual properties of the observed stars in each field were derived by applying a software developed in-house which allows user input and condenses well established techniques of astrophysical analysis.
