The eutectic alloy Sn-37%Pb that is being used in tha assembly of electronic circuits and in telecommunication since more than 50 years, must be replaced by Lead free alloys in the near future, due to the adverse effects against the environment and the public health because the high toxicity of lead. At this time, the first candidate alloys to substitute Sn-Pb are belong to Sn-Ag-Cu system (SAC Alloys). However, still results very difficult to establish reliable data about thermal properties, which are fundamental to interprete the solidification process of this system. In this work, an analysis of the thermal behavior of binary Sn-Ag, Sn-Cu and ternary Sn-Ag-Cu were carried out by using pseudo-differential Thermal Analysis and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
