Knowing the distribution and breeding sites of mosquito vector species is of fundamental importance when planning and executing disease control measures. The distribution limits of Aedes aegypti in America were expanding, both in latitude and altitude, as a result of climate change, mosquito's adaptation to colder areas and the increase in the variety of breeding containers. The objective of this work was to analyze the distribution of the mosquito in the province of Jujuy and the sites where it breeds. Based on field sampling, epidemiological data and community contributions, a survey of the distribution of Ae. aegypti was carried out in the province of Jujuy, establishing the current altitudinal limit of this species at 1553 meters above sea level. The most diverse oviposition sites were artificial containers, being buckets, while Aechmea distichantha, a plant species of the Bromeliaceae family, were those recorded in types of natural containers. Knowledge about the ecology and distribution of Ae. aegypti allows us to estimate the selection of oviposition sites and what season of the year this species is most active.
