Next, we present two anthropological exercises that, in their observation, advance within what Lawrence Stenhouse (1990) calls “ethnographic vignette” when selecting a set of events whose characteristics are determined to some extent by the interpretative position of the author; but that is also oriented by what Christine Hine (2004) calls “virtual ethnography” to be developed within the framework of new realities arising with the rise of information and communication technologies. These are the notes written ‘hot’ by researchers in Bogota and Greater Buenos Aires who, in front of the television screen, inscribed in their field notebooks information and perceptions about the broadcasts that Colombian and Argentine television channels made of Two football matches of the Copa América Centenario. They are published in this special issue of the magazine DESBORDES with the double purpose of illustrating the methodology used in the other articles that compose this compilation and to enrich the global view, with other authors, of the parties in question.
