A study carried out made it possible to identify lands in this international pass and adjacencies, which were affected by ash rains during the Holocene, concluding that the Laguna del Maule Volcanic Complex and the Descabezado Grande and Quizapu stratovolcanoes, located in the Maule Region (Chile), They were responsible for significant environmental impacts and it is hoped that they could cause new problems if reactivated. For this reason, the volcanic hazard chart of the area was prepared, which warns about the spaces that can be reached by pyroclasts against new eruptive events.
