This paper analyses the aspects of the theatrical relationship that are addressed by the Castilian theatrical regulations during the reign of Philip III. Taking into account two fundamental production contexts of this regulations, the development of the Madrid scene and the factional alignments inside the Court, it is problematized the postulated propagandistic functionalization of baroque public theatre by the Hispanic Monarchy.
