In 2007, INCUINTA identified a critical gap in Argentina’s technological ecosystem: the lack of infrastructure and strategic tools to transform research projects into products that reach users. INCUINTA formulated a hypothesis: research results needed to reach maturity levels that would enable their industrial development. The strategy was to create a portfolio of technological platforms for protein production, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adaptable to various applications within the field of biotechnology applied to health. This includes the production of recombinant proteins in bacteria, yeast, insect cells, and mammalian cells; the production of recombinant monoclonal nanoantibodies; the production of egg yolk-derived polyclonal antibodies (IgY); the production of diagnostic kits; and the production of next-generation vaccines. The hypothesis was validated through the development of 15 innovative biotechnological products that reached users, such as diagnostic kits, vaccines, and therapeutic treatments. It was also confirmed by the creation of companies like Bioinnovo S.A. and the establishment of alliances with national and international private entities. The success of this strategy led to its adoption by INTA as a federal institutional policy, enabling the creation of regional innovation hubs known as INCUVA, NIC, NIP, and INCUNOA. These hubs facilitate collaboration between the public and private sectors, addressing the needs of the agricultural and health sectors and promoting national value-added production.
