Jujuy is one of the main producers of banana cultivation in northwest Argentina. After almost 30 years, no studies were carried out to update and deepen knowledge about the diversity of entomofauna and its interaction with bananas. The objectives of the work were to identify the arthropod species present in the reproductive stage of banana in the Yungas of Jujuy and determine the type of association that the species maintain with the flowers and fruits. Sampling was carried out in the agricultural strip of the Selva Pedemontana of the Yungas (Ledesma-Jujuy- Argentina), during the reproductive stage of the crop (flowering and fruiting) in September and November 2022. Two sites with banana production were selected: commercial farm (field) with conventional agricultural management and under cover cultivation. On each sampling date and site, three inflorescences were extracted, separated by at least 5m from each other. The samples were placed in polyethylene bags, labeled and subsequently reviewed under a stereoscopic microscope. The entomological material was conditioned in bottles with 70% alcohol. In total 3047 individuals and 27 sp /morphospecies were registered separated into eight orders. Thysanoptera was the most abundant, represented by Frankliniella brevicaulis Hood (Thripidae) at both sites. This species completes its life cycle in the inflorescences and fruits of banana where it causes damage due to feeding and oviposition. Other abundant species were Ectopsocopsis sp. (Psocoptera: Ectopsocidae) and Coproporus sp. (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae), both associated with decomposing plant material.
