Chair of Animal Biology, traditionally called General Zoology, of the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences (UNJu), has numerous research that was carried out in conjunction with the Chair of Agricultural Zoology, from the late 1980s to 2015. Its main references worked in co-authorship for more than two decades: Dr. Lidia Susana Muruaga de L'Argentier +, Esp. Ing. Agr. Sara Leonor Quintana, Dr. Claudia Gallardo and Prof. Hugo Vilte carried out entomological research that guided the team's scientific activity. Each one leaving their mark and specializing in different lines of research, they provided relevant information related to different organisms of animal origin that act as pests of the main crops of agricultural and forestry importance in the province of Jujuy. The objective of this work is to provide a review of the results of entomological research carried out in the socio-productive area of the province by the research professors of the Chair of Animal Biology (formerly General Zoology), in the last 40 years. The research was directed by Dr. Muruaga de L'Argentier+ and her Chair team, who not only focused her vocation on generating scientific information, but also on leaving a legacy with the training of new professionals who graduated from the study house and follow the same lines of research to date.
