This article draws on the contributions of Juan Carlos Marín to analyze the objective moment of relations of forces in terms of rupture and the production of social relations. It argues that the movement intrinsic to capitalism produces a constant alteration in the order of those relations and that, in the long run, the generation of relative surplus population tends to prevail. However, upon the condition of the expropriated as a free worker, a framework of labor statistics is constructed that obstructs the observation of this tendency: its variations thus appear as historical or geographical contingencies, or as deviations from a norm, currently under the forms of informality and non-standard employment. In contrast, the article proposes reading these forms as expressions of relations produced through objective ruptures that may well indicate a process of capitalist decomposition.
