The aim is to analyse the links between (in)mobility, socioeconomic conditions, and constraints on access to tourism, by exploring the meanings and practices in relation to the graduation trip –a type of student tourism– of students from secondary schools in vulnerable neighbourhoods of the autonomous city of Buenos Aires (Argentina), the constraints they perceive to travel and the strategies to cope with them. As part of descriptive-exploratory project with a qualitative approach, to construct the empirical data, 13 in-depth interviews were conducted with young people from a state-run secondary school located in a neighbourhood in the south of the city, area socially and economically; analysed according to the guidelines of the constructivist perspective of grounded theory. From the dialogue between the emerging data and the conceptual framework, it was noted that the main impediment to accessing the graduate trip are the economic constraints. In their analysis, three dimensions are distinguished: costs perceptions, choice of destination and contracting services. From their articulation, is discussed the link between the economic constraints perceived in the interviews and the elements of (in)mobilities: desires and intentions to travel, directionality and rhythms. This analysis reveals a low capacity for mobility in this group of young people and a differential politics of tourism mobilities that has characterised the access to the graduate trip in the country. The proposed approach is a contribution to the analysis of social and economic accessibility in tourism, based on the investigation of student tourism and its particularities, which has been scarcely studied in the country, especially from the youth perspective. This analysis, through the approach of mobility and access constraints, is also a novel approach in this type of research.
