This article studies the "intranslations" (intraduções): visual poems produced by the brazilian poet Augusto de Campos between 1974 and 2003 by operations of inter-semiotic translation using as a starting point texts of prominent authors of tradition. The intranslations’ forms are quickly apprehensible and produced by cuts, selection of fragments, recreation and repositioning the font text in an iconic visual context. The article presents an analysis of the concept of "intranslation" through the study of works of the series and postulates as hypothesis that intranslations are intended to be a vivification and way of access to verse tradition in a new context (the digital culture) through a transmutation governed by a logic of compendium and miniaturization, becoming exponents of a poetic practice which obsessively looks to the past and tradition, but conceives that relation from notions of use and criticism rather than conservation.
