The rise of the exterior temperature, influenced by global warming and the heat island effect in urban centers, affects people comfort needs. Climate change mitigation measures are needed, such as the integration of bioclimatic strategies in buildings. Many of these strategies suppose actions performed by the inhabitants, been this an uncertainty factor in the real thermal performance of houses. This study contributes to identify the influence of the user’s behavior on interior thermal comfort in houses located in the city of Mendoza (32º 40´S; 68º 51´W y 750 masl). Night cooling strategy is analyzed in summer. A thermal audit of a representative house was performed in a period of 40 days in January and February, 2017. Also, actions performed by users were recorded. Results show that the correct use and management of the envelope in summer through night cooling, favors the achievement of comfort by 89% of the total of recorded data. If ventilation is constant (day and night) only 22% of the recorded data presents temperatures in the comfort range. This value decreases to 0% if interior spaces are not ventilated. It is concluded that the influence of the user on the thermal comfort in a house is significant and presents a direct effect.
