Hab Mut zum Glück! (¡Ten valor para la Felicidad!): Otras aproximaciones a la obra de Livia Neumann

Abstract

El artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la obra Hab Mut zum Glück! (1942) publicada por Livia Neumann en la editorial Cosmopolita de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Nos proponemos, por un lado, conocer cómo esta obra promocionó una serie de comportamientos y representaciones sexogenéricas ante sus lectores germano hablantes en Argentina. Por otro lado, interpelar este libro como una fuente histórica capaz de exhibir particularidades y problemáticas de la comunidad en torno a la experiencia del exilio durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Por último, nos proponemos reflexionar sobre la inserción de este libro dentro del proyecto editorial a partir de la hipótesis de que esta obra fue un emprendimiento comercial particular dentro del programa general de una editorial, destinada al público germanohablante y antinazi de la Argentina

The following article aims to analyse the work Hab Mut zum Glück! (1942) published by Livia Neumann in the publishing house Cosmopolita in the city of Buenos Aires. On the one hand, we aim to examine how this book transmitted a series of values and ideas that promoted and inhibited sexgender behaviour and representations to its German-speaking readers in Argentina. On the other hand, to interrogate this book as a historical source able to exhibit the particularities and problems of the German-speaking community around the experience of exile during the Second World War. Finally, we propose to reflect on the insertion of this book within the editorial project based on the hypothesis that this work was a particular commercial venture within the general programme of a publishing house, aimed at the German-speaking and anti-Nazi public in Argentina.
