The Pachamama, identified as a maternal figure that represents the nature in a whole, protector and principal promoter of fertility, is seen like a living being with which one interacts daily. These ancestral senses are recreated in the collective memory of the people from the Cachi department (Salta) and they express in commemorative practices like the veneration realized in august. In this way, the objective of this paper consists in exploring the Andean belief of Pachamama starting from their expression in the actual ritual instances. For its approach we go to the information built in the field work developed by the team since 2015 in the area, focused on interviews and participation in the instances of honors to Mother Earth. The debates are based on the dynamism of identity configurations that link diverse socio-cultural processes and historical traverses, based on an Andean matrix that has withstood the different challenges of modernity.
