The purpose of this paper is to present the findings of a recent study, which reflects on an issue of interest within the field of sociology of youth: The role that education and work play in youth transitions. The analysis focused on theoretical and epistemological discussions, deepening the translation found in the itineraries of today’s youth. The aim was to provide elements of the dynamics operating in the occupational and educational situations with the understanding that it expresses a form of relationship with the environment and thus with other social action spheres. We worked from a qualitative perspective by following the sub-cohort of 2003 graduates, from the Argentine cities of Salta, Neuquén, Buenos Aires and La Plata.
