The wine agroindustry is one of the main productive sectors in the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan, with Mendoza as its epicenter, supplying the consumption demands of the Litoral region in Argentina. One of the characteristics of this sector was the overproduction of grapes and wine, a situation that led to cyclical crises. These circumstances sparked numerous discussions about promoting various branches of the industry. The international crisis of 1930 revived these proposals, which is why regional historiography has characterized this period as an industrial awakening. This article analyzes the incentives provided by local public policies for this process and identifies the key actors who played a role in this cycle.
